In the South-West of Reus we can find one of the most important areas of the city, which is developing a new urban project called Tecnoparc. This area will house public buildings of great importance such as a hospital, a university, apartment blocs, Hotels, residential areas and a new Fair and Conference Hall located in the heart of this new area.

Tecnoparc is a low populated residential area of new creation, where the City Hall is developing greater facilities for the city.

The new Fair and Conference Hall, which is going to be awarded in a public competition with a 52.000.000€ starting price, is sited in this area called Tecnopac, in order to create a landmark in this particular neighbourhood.

Together with FCC Construcción and with the collaboration off the Architects Jordi Fernandez and Eduardo Gutierrez we have handed in our proposal in order to be awarded the construction of the Fair and Conference Hall in Reus.

With the aim of creating an interactive and gathering atmosphere, this building is laid-out in an exempt way, so that the four corners of the building are open, giving way to green areas and gardens, promenades and entertainment areas, which create a central area called “circle” in the open air, where any kind of activity can take place, establishing an especial dialogue with the surrounding space as well as with the open-air public area in the technological park, hoping to get it integrated in the city.

This special bounding between nature and human activity is also present inside the building, as a defining element of space and light. The inner divisions are located over this collision of gardens and light, surrounded by a dynamic double façade common to the whole building.
